Living Spaces is an exhibition tracing a hundred years of textiles in Dutch interiors.

A series of conceptual rooms present the changing use of fabrics in the household every 10 to 20 years, starting from 1900 onwards. The conceptual spaces display interiors from seven distinctive periods: Dutch Art Nouveau, 1930’s modernism, the post-war period, the alternative 1970’s, postmodernism, recent Dutch Design and finally the concept room of the future.

The interior of each of them is based on the ideal image of each particular design movement or trend, such as the sunken seating area of the 1970’s.

Living Spaces was on show from 8 February till 11 May 2014 at Textielmuseum Tilburg.
