3034 Interpolis

Interpolis, an indemnity insurance company, finds its roots in the Dutch agrarian world. Studio Makkink & Bey designed both the reception area and restaurant of its headquarters.

Following from the company’s history, the interiors of archetypical Dutch farms were taken as inspiration. Interpolis’ reception area was treated like a farmers’ parlour, with abundantly decorated carpets and wallpaper.

Especially for this area a new furniture piece was designed, the Earchair – a big-eared chair creating a concentrated space within space, allowing for meetings and little conferences to take place. The restaurant interior with bespoke furniture and textiles conveys the wealth and beauty the country side interiors show.
